While flipping through some old magazines before saying bye bye to them in the re-cycle bin, I came across this interesting article (guess I bought that magazine for the sake of buying? It's actually the 1st time that I read about it =.=''') Since it's a Chinese article, decided to do a rough translation to share with those who are interested or curious too if your idol is currently dating secretly?...heheee....Here it goes:-
Even though the society is becoming more open-minded, but idols being in a love relationship is still an issue for the fear that fans will object. In Korea, there’s even rumors that management agencies has a “No dating” clause in the contract, to prevent their artistes from “destroying” their career because of love.
However,
most of the idols are in their youthful age, there’s bound to be times when
they can’t control their feelings, and secretly started an underground
relationship.
In actual
fact, many Korean fans feel that idols are human too; they should also be doing
things which human beings normally do. This of course includes dating/ being in
a love relationship. What’s interesting is many Sasaeng fans (Fans who followed
their idols 24/7) who knew about their idols being in a relationship, are
willing to “protect” their idols, covering up and keeping mum on this secret.
In March
this year, K-pop fans created an interesting topic online “How do you know if
your idol is dating?” This survey is done through 100 female fans that have
more than 10 years of idol-chasing experience. According to these experienced
fans, if your idol has more than half of “YES” answers to the following test,
he/ she is most liking to be in a love relationship now~!

Level 1 Test (This could just be a
misunderstanding)
Ø Staring at the phone every minute
every second
Ø Holding 3 mobile phones (Work/
Special line for lover/ normal life)
Suspicious character: Actually many Korean
idols have more than one mobile phone. When Idols were trainees, it’s a norm
for their phones to be “confiscated” by their management agency. Said to be,
this is to ensure that they will be more focus in training.

Level 2 Test (Could be in an on-going
relationship)
Ø Always being more emotional during
interview
Ø Keep stressing wanting to take a
break, to go traveling
Ø Starting to take note of own
dressing
Ø Often going out with other artistes
Suspicious character: Netizens pointed out that
leader of SHINee – Onew previously started to care about his usual dressing
recently. Not long after, he was being “exposed” dating Jungah (After School),
seems that there’s traits in it.

Level 3 Test (Worth suspecting)
Ø When describing ideal type, more
details are described i.e. Long hair, ankles are very pretty, left eye has a mole
etc. ( Previous description is more vague i.e. filial, understanding)
Ø Doing some unusual body movement or
gesture continuously (E.g. when a group is dancing, he will have some small
actions which is different from the rest of the group)
Ø Wearing the same type of accessories
for long period of time (It’s highly possible to be couple item)
Suspicious character: After TVXQ – Changmin was
being exposed in a weibo photo posted by f(x) leader – Victoria, netizens began
their CSI spirit, digging many similar items whereby both of them have.

Level 4 Test (Almost could be sure)
Ø Obtaining car licence
Ø Even during promotional period where
schedules are fully packed, he/she also went out early and came back late
Suspicious character: Pioneer idol – Tony An
(H.O.T) and Girl’s Day – Hyeri were being photographed going out in the middle
of night, disclosing their dating relationship

Level 5 Test (If it’s a Yes for above all,
this is almost certain)
Ø Buying a car
Suspicious character: Many artistes once
mentioned in variety talk shows that, once an idol wanna go on a date, cars
will be the “best dating spot”. Best demonstrated by Rain & Kim Tae Hee
Previously
a Korean Girl group – Dal Shabet mentioned some interesting facts in an
interview. They said, because idol groups are always very busy, hence, if you
were to take note of the artistes’ schedule, and their performance of that time, it’s
very easy to find out who is in a love relationship

Promotional Period clashes together
Idols are always at practice or rehearsing dance moves from day to dusk. When an album is released, there’s even busy schedule to promote for the album that there’s even no time to sleep. However, if the person he/she like belongs to the same Company, or groups whose promotional period clashed together, this will be much more convenient. When recording for a show, artistes would usually spend quite a lot of time waiting backstage. If the other half is an idol of same promotional period, it will be easier to nurture the relationship for the 2 of them.

Insisted that the other party is super
good friend
Aside from that, Dal Shabet also mentioned,
usually for artistes who are in a love relationship will keep stressing to
the public that both are very good friends, and are always going out together
with a big group of friends. With this “frankness”, there is no need to fear of
being “exposed” should they dated openly in future.
At the same time, this is also an Oath of sovereignty method. Said
to be, with this kind of gesture, it will also allow others to understand that
the other party is already “taken”, thus avoiding unnecessary scandals.
